Fall 2022 After-School Club Registration

Oregon Humane Society's After School Clubs aim to inspire, educate, and empower today’s youth to create a more humane future for animals. Sessions will feature socialization with shelter pets, animal enrichment crafts, and presentations from professionals of the industry.
These clubs are not only FUN but they teach real-world skills that are foundational for future careers in the field of animal welfare!

Animal Health and Wellness (Grades 4 & 5):
Wednesdays from Oct. 5–26; 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Calling all future Animal Professionals! This club is an opportunity to dip your toes in the field of Animal Health and Wellness. We will explore a variety of species and breeds, learning about everything from biology to the behavior of the pets we serve.

Intro to Humane Law Enforcement (Grades 6–8):
Wednesdays from Nov. 2–30 (No club on Nov. 23); 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In this four-week course, participants will learn how protective laws are created, and what they can do to stand up for animals in their communities. We will have guest speakers from our very own Humane Law Enforcement team to share their firsthand experiences of how they use empathy and compassion to respond to calls for help.

All sessions will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Oregon Humane Society Portland Campus, Education Hall.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols
We are currently holding clubs in-person. While we are not requiring masks, we want to remind people that wearing masks is still a way to help protect yourselves from the spread. We will continue to hold programs in-person as it is safe to do so. OHS has mandated that staff be vaccinated or tested weekly.
