Bailey and I are getting ready for the Humane Society's Doggie Dash!
(We've been so busy training to be PetPartners, that we're a little behind in getting the word out!). The big event is just around the corner and our goal is to raise $1000 to help the Humane Society help pets.

Just so you know, Bailey and I are actually physically doing this. (We aren't doing this virtually). For those of you who don't know, this is a really big deal for me because I've struggled from Lyme Disease for over a decade and this past February it was determined that I'm finally in remission! Being able to finally do something physical, like the Doggie Dash, is very exciting indeed! This comes after years of intensive treatment, daily IV infusions, and much more. Lyme literally impaired my ability to walk and function normally for years. Now, I'm finally able, so Bailey and I are celebrating by doing this Doggie Dash with much appreciation.

Before I close, I want to share a few things I just learned about the Oregon Humane Society that I didn't know before 1) there is never a time limit on how long pets remain at their shelter, 2) two pets who are best friends are kept together for as long as it takes to find them a loving home! Yep!! They get to remain together. This really warmed my heart!

A lot of people also don't know that OHS has an onsite hospital—recently caring for a shepherd mix who was hit by a car and received a lifesaving surgery. Also, OHS there to help in disasters—they even drove a van down to California and took in cats from areas affected by the Camp Fire.

I realize this is pretty wordy, so thank you for reading it. We thank you in advance for your support of any type or any amount, Most of all, thank you so much for helping pets!

Bailey and I are really looking forward to the Doggie Dash. It's sure to be a fun event.

With Sincere Appreciation,

Vivian and Bailey
