My dog, Ernie, is a very good boy. He's a 12 year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, according to veterinarians that know more than I do. Ernie enjoys long hikes, long cuddles, meeting new humans and dogs, and canned meat. I adopted him through Oregon Humane Society's Second Chance program, which recruited him from a California shelter after his first unsuccessful adoption. OHS then took Ernie back in after his second unsuccessful adoption, which is how I had the great fortune of meeting my best friend. He literally only cost $55 to adopt and has brought Josh and I an immeasurable amount of joy.

Honestly, we're doing the Doggie Dash because we want to go to the biggest dog party in the Pacific Northwest, but also because we want more good pets to have a chance of finding their perfect family. If you have any money to spare, Josh, Ernie, and I would greatly appreciate a donation or for you to join our team! It cost $50 to join, which is almost the price of one Ernie, but it should be a good time.

Thanks for reading,
Shannon and Josh
