Doggie Dash is back, and I am joining the pack to save lives.
You guys. I love animals. You love animals. I work with them on the daily to make sure the animals in my care are healthy, happy, and on the way to a new life in a loving forever home.
That's why I'm fundraising for animals in need at the Oregon Humane Society.
Each year, thousands of pets find loving homes through OHS. Some stay just a few days, while others are there for months.
My own dog, Ziggy, arrived at OHS starved, weak, anemic, and literally hours from death. There he received life-saving interventions followed by months of care.. I spent months as Ziggy's foster mom as he slowly gained weight and recovered his health. We adopted him shortly afterwards because we couldn't bear the thought of not having him in our lives. Now Ziggy is a sweet, bonkers, happy boy who loves chasing balls, car rides, and issuing death threats to his nemesis, the mailman. His care would have cost thousands of dollars and most shelters would not have had the time or money to invest in his life. But OHS could because of donors like you and events like Doggie Dash.
There are a million more stories like Ziggy's:
Houston, a sweet chihuahua mix, came to OHS with two broken legs. He needed multiple surgeries to repair his shattered bones. OHS vets even consulted with outside specialists since Houston’s injuries were so complex. It took months for his injuries to heal.
Fawn, a starving girl with terrible skin disease and a previous life of neglect.
Sweet Baby Ray, a friendly tomcat with terrible traumatic injuries likely sustained during his life as a stray on a farm.
Emmy, a sweet kitty who got caught in a house fire and sustained burns and head trauma.
Frankie, the perfect tiny beefcake of a dog in need of surgery to repair a prolapse.
Gloria P. Luna, a husky with a severe uterine prolapse.
Hundreds of kittens with severe respiratory infections and puppies with Parvo virus!
The list goes on and on. This is what I do daily. These are the animals we help at OHS. YOU are the reason we have the resources to help them.
Today, Houston and all the animals listed above are living their best lives in safe, loving homes. This important work is funded by donations from animal lovers like you.
I hope you'll join me in helping pets from all walks of life. Please donate now!
