Corky says "Stay home!”

Our country is in an unprecedented state. Life as we know it has changed. What hasn't changed is the need to take care of animals without homes and families. Oregon Humane continues to stay open and take in animals from shelters that are over-crowded.

It is hard to ask for money during this time, but the pets are still relying on us to come through for them. If you have it in your heart and budget, consider donating a small amount to keep the shelter running. Wishing you and yours health in this time of COVID 19.

Corky came from Bakersfield, California almost ten years ago. She was just a puppy and would have been one of 20,000 pets that were euthanized that year in just that shelter alone. That's right. Shocking isn't it?

Our team, Highway to Home, support the Second chance program which brings in almost 8,000 animals a year from these shelters. Saves them. I volunteer three times a week with these new animals, photographing them so they look their best.

I also volunteer in our Animal Learning Center hospital where in a single morning, at least 50 animals are spayed and neutered at low cost for members of our community.

All this costs money!! OHS is supported by private donations from people like YOU! Can you spare $10 or $20 to help save a furry love?

A few other facts:

• OHS never puts time limits on how long pets remain at their shelter. What really touches my heart is when two pets go to OHS and are best friends, they stay for as long as it takes to find a loving home together.

• When it comes to helping abused or neglected pets, they have a whole Investigations team that seeks justice for these animals. OHS really does give a voice to the voiceless.

I'm hoping you'll join me in helping pets from all walks of life. Please donate now!

Thank you so much!

Perfect timing! My 10-year-old son, Alex, did chores around the house for a week to earn $22. He told me he wanted to donate it all to the OHS. I told him I'd add to it.
