Join Me in Helping Pets!

I'm lacing up my shoes for Doggie Dash, a fundraiser for Oregon Humane Society!

You know how much I love animals. I signed up for Doggie Dash because the pets in our community need help!

When I first started supporting OHS, I didn't realize just how much they did for pets. Even with everything that has happened this year, OHS is still committed to their mission and what is best for the pets.

Did you know that OHS never puts time limits on how long pets remain at their shelter? What really touches my heart is when two pets go to OHS and are best friends, they stay for as long as it takes to find a loving home together.

During the pandemic, OHS has stepped up to help pets and people. Even after donating all of their PPE to local hospitals and emergency services, their medical team used handmade masks and scrubs to continue to treat and heal pets.

A lot of people don't know that OHS has an onsite hospital. OHS recently cared for an adorable Heeler with a broken leg. Thanks to the help of the shelter veterinarians and an orthopedic specialist, he is on the mend and in a foster home during his recovery time.

And when it comes to helping abused or neglected pets, they have a whole Investigations team that is still seeking justice for these animals and continues to check in on pets when community members call with concerns. OHS really does give a voice to the voiceless.

I'm interested in participating in the Doggie Dash by going for a walk in the neighborhood or nearby park with my newly adopted little Minnie the Yorkshire terrier. I had been looking for quite a while to adopt a little white dog and had an appointment set at Woofin Palooza. When I arrived at my appointment, they said the little white dog had just been adopted, but asked if I wanted to visit with any other small dogs. I agreed and they brought in two puppies and Minnie. I had brought dog treats and Minnie was so sweet and full of energy, I wanted to adopt her.

I know many of you already support great causes in the community, so no pressure!

Thank you so much!
