I'm lacing up my shoes for Doggie Dash, a fundraiser for Oregon Humane Society!
If you know anything about me, you know how much I love animals, especially dogs. If I had enough money and a big enough piece of property I would try to adopt all the dogs that need a loving home! I currently volunteer for Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) helping with adoption events, but felt like i could be doing something more. As a way to get my butt off of the couch and help a great cause at the same time, I decided to sign up for Doggie Dash. This will be my first year participating in anything like this so it will all be new to me. Nonetheless I am excited... and so is Maybe, she just doesn't know it yet.
The pets, not only in our community, but all over, need our help. The money donated towards this cause goes to support the Oregon Humane Society (OHS) and all that they do (which is a lot). They put the interest and safety of their pets first so they can find their loving forever home. If two bonded pets go to OHS, they will be sure that they get adopted together. They also have no time limits on how long a pet can remain at the shelter. OHS has an onsite hospital to care for injured, abused, and/or neglected animals as well as the day to day vaccines and spay/neuters.
I'm hoping you'll join me in helping pets. Any donation amount, small or large, will make a huge difference in the lives of these animals.
