Meet Maggie

Carol Christensen

Carol Christensen

This is Maggie, one of 41 puppies I fostered last year (along with 4 moms and 4 kittens). All of her brothers and sisters found homes in December, but Maggie had to wait until she had surgery to fix an ectopic ureter (tube from kidney didn't go to bladder). OHS' wonderful med team didn't have the equipment or expertise to perform the surgery, so OHS paid for it to be done at OSU.

The Humane Society's medical center performs over 12,000 surgeries a year including free to low cost spaying and neutering of cats of low income people. Fractured legs are pinned or plated and cast, mastectomies performed, tumors removed, illness along with abuse and neglect treated. This all comes at a cost.

OHS is about so much more than adoptions- helping the abused and neglected, humane education of students and adults, free behavior hotline to keep families together, food bank for other shelters and federal employees during the shutdown, taking in animals from 92 over crowded shelters in 9 states so they don't have to be euthanized, sending teams of volunteers and staff to help in disaster areas around the country. These efforts all take money.

Will you help OHS continue to help animals and families in need? Make sure the next Maggie can be treated and live a wonderful life.

I will match all donations to my account, up to $5,000.

Thank you so much!
