Join me in supporting Doggie Dash, a fundraiser for Oregon Humane Society and the commitment in creating a more humane society by helping people and their pets.
When a pet arrives at OHS who may be shy or frightened, OHS has a special program to help teach them to trust people. Big wins are the simple things like when they first take a treat from your hand or their first wag of their tail, but the really big win is the loving home they will be ready for when adopted.
When it comes to helping abused or neglected pets, they have a Humane Law Enforcement team that is in the field to investigate reports of animals in desperate situations or connect struggling pet owners with lifesaving supplies and resources.
During this pandemic OHS has stepped up to support pet owners around the state. Close to 100,000 lbs of pet food was delivered to shelters and food pantries around the state, and given directly to owners at free pet food banks at OHS.
I hope your pets were a comfort to you through this challenging time and I'm hoping you'll join me in helping pets from all walks of life.
