We're doing it to save lives!!

Fourteen years ago I found my Hero, a stray dog in rural Thailand who was hit by a car, thrown into the trash, and left to die a horrible death. Rescuing him is one of the best and most rewarding experiences in my life. Today he lives 14 time zones away here in Portland, roaming the neighborhood streets in his wheelchair and loving the sun when it makes it's way out. And with that wheelchair, Hero and I will be participating in the Oregon Humane Society's (OHS) Doggie Dash on May 13th to help raise funds and awareness for neglected and abused pets all across the country.

Hero's situation isn't unusual, but with a bit of love anyone can make the difference for an animal in great need. The Oregon Humane Society is the largest and oldest humane society in the Northwest. Last year, OHS found homes for more than 11,600 pets, investigated more than 1,000 reports of animal cruelty, and reached 14,000 people through its humane education programs. The OHS Second Chance program saves the lives of thousands of animals each year that end up in high kill shelters all across the Western United States.

Please donate to the animals on Hero and my behalf. No matter how small a donation, your action WILL save lives. Hero is living proof of it!!

Thanks so much. Hero and John
