Kathy & Jim Lillis

We are excited to participate in the Oregon Humane Society’s Doggie Dash on May 13, and we hope that you will help us raise money to support homeless animals who need our help. Including caring for more than 11,600 animals last year, many who need a new home because of economic or behavior issues, OHS rescues pets that are neglected and abused, sometimes with serious medical issues. This means they feed and care for these animals without any tax dollars.

Since last July, I have been working with a group of six German Shepherd dogs that were rescued from a very unfortunate situation. The family was living in a small trailer with young children and multiple animals. The dogs came to OHS both neglected (half their ideal weight) and unsocialized to people and other animals. A team of us have been working closely with them for many months, and the last of the six is going home soon. Our team continues to work with the adopters to support them as they help the dogs adjust and thrive in their new homes. OHS made the commitment to these dogs, as it does to all of the others, to help them become adoptable and then find them responsible, loving homes. That does not come cheap, but the one thing I have learned over a 11-year period of volunteering is that OHS stands behind every animal they take in. There isn't a time limit or a financial cap. I am so proud to be associated with this incredible organization. Jim and I appreciate your support through your donation to helping dogs, cats and other animals find a life of safety and love.

Please, donate to the animals on our behalf. Just click on the Donate button on this page.

Thanks so much!
