Join me (and Pippin) in Helping Pets!

It's that time of year again...the time when I debase myself and ask for a little of your hard-earned money. Let's just get that out of the way right now.

The money is not for me, of course, it's for the Oregon Humane Society, where I volunteer with the dogs. And it doesn't need to be much. Every single dollar counts.

You can read all about OHS and their 4 star rating from Charity Navigator online, but here are a few salient facts:

•For the past several years OHS has found homes for OVER 11,000 ANIMALS each year.

•There is no time limit: every animal is free to stay in a safe warm environment until a loving home can be found.

•CALIFORNIANS PLEASE NOTE: Every week, a truckload of animals from California that would otherwise be "timed out" of overcrowded shelters is brought here to find homes. Over 4,000 California dogs and cats every year come to Portland to find homes. (Just like you will some day.)

•OHS is 100% privately funded, by donations like yours, receiving no tax dollars or government funding.

Their annual Doggie Dash fundraiser is the event in question here, and Pippin and I will be at Waterfront Park in Portland that day to walk and root for the cause. If you're nearby, come join us!

Please help if you can. Just click the Donate button.

Thanks for anything you can spare.
