Join Me in Helping Pets!

Diane Heffron

As you may know, I've been volunteering with the Oregon Humane Society since I moved out west in 2012. This is a truly amazing organization that helps homeless pets not only in the Portland area, but also along the West Coast through the Second Chances program.

It’s with Second Chances that I’ve been focusing my volunteer efforts and it has become a great passion of mine. Every week, OHS transports cats and dogs from overcrowded shelters in California, Washington and parts of Oregon that have little chance of being adopted in their communities. I help out by getting the dogs off the truck and processed into our shelter. Below are some pictures of a recent intake.

To learn more about an average Second Chance night for me, check out this blog: oregonhumane.org/spending-the-night-with-ohs-second-chance

On May 13th I will be participating in the annual Doggie Dash, where I will help raise awareness and funds for this wonderful organization. Please consider donating to this important cause and helping to support OHS in their efforts to save more animals through the Second Chance program.

Thank you!!
