It’s still raining in Oregon and most of us are looking out the window hoping our dogs stay snuggled in their beds and won’t want to go for a walk in the never ending rain. I may be reluctant to put on my boots but I’ll tell there are some at OHS who don’t give it a second thought.
Our staff and volunteers are tireless dog walkers. Nothing stops these dedicated folks from gearing up and getting our dogs out for a walk along the dog path. Even when the dogs would rather not (think itsy bitsy Chihuahuas) they get tucked into a warm coat and go along for the ride. Does it really matter if the dogs feet touch the ground to qualify as a walk?
The toughest folks of all? Our OHSTAR Team who never pass on an opportunity to rescue a pet in need. Always in dangerous conditions like dogs off a cliff or cats up a tree, often in the middle of night, and like last Saturdays’ rescue of a dog in Molalla, both the night and during a storm, they never say never.
So if you are thinking about making a gift for Doggie Dash, don’t think about me and my two lazy German Shepherds. Give because there are true heroes at OHS whose work is only possible because of your donation.
Please, donate to the animals on my behalf. Just click on a Donate button on this page, and think of your own pet!
Thanks so much!
