Waiver
I understand that participating in Oregon Humane Society's WillaMutt Strut on August 13, 2023 includes an element of risk both to myself and the dog(s) I have registered. I should not participate unless both the dog and I are physically able. I agree to abide by any decision of an event official relative to my, and my dog's, ability to complete this event safely and further agree that event officials may authorize necessary emergency treatment for me or the dog.
I also understand that, although police protection will be provided, both vehicle traffic and spectators may be present along the course and I assume the risk of participating under such conditions. I further assume any and all other risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to illness, traveling to and from the event, falls, contact with spectators or other participants or dogs, the effects of weather (including temperature extremes and humidity) and the surface condition of the roads and sidewalks. All such risks being understood and appreciated by me.
I agree to abide by all the rules of participation in this event. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant to sue, and waive, release and discharge Oregon Humane Society, the City of Salem, Marion County, event officials, volunteers and any and all other event sponsors, suppliers, agents, independent contractors, employees and any other of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or parties named in this waiver.
I also understand and agree that OHS and sponsors may subsequently use, for publicity or promotional purposes, my name, information or image, without liability or obligation to me. Entries from minors will only be accepted with a parent or legal guardian's signature and the same conditions apply to all minors participating under the supervision of a registered participant.
Oregon Humane Society’s first priority is the safety and health of our attendees, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and staff. If you are sick or feel you are getting sick, we ask that you please stay home. Oregon Humane Society reserves the right to modify and add requirements at its sole discretion.
