Ok, you all know I love animals, especially dogs. In fact, my first ever dog, Gin, turns 13 in just a couple days! She's given us lots of love, stolen a piece of lemon meringue pie when I got up for just a flippin' second to grab water out of the kitchen, and has cost us a LOT of money with various random things going wrong over the last 13 years. We moved to Hawaii and back. Swam in the ocean, or at least tried...she's not a great swimmer...and over all those years, I've never doubted her love for me or my love for her.

Pets like Gin give us so much more than we can ever give them. Sure, they eat socks, steal food, knock over kids (which is pretty funny most of the time), and cause us some of the greatest heartbreak we'll ever experience when they leave us. How could we ever repay them? What could we do that would come close to the unconditional love they give us? Nothing. HAHA just kidding - I think one of the most amazing things we can do in recognition of all the love and joy our furry, feathered, and other pets give us, is helping pets and people who need some support through donating to OHS.

Call it a birthday present for Gin!
