All of us deserve the chance to live a joyful life.

That’s why I’m participating in Doggie Dash to support the lifesaving work of the Oregon Humane and help animals—and the people who love them—across our community.

Oregon Humane provides so much more than shelter. Donations support:

• Daily care for animals while they wait for loving homes
• Financial assistance so families don’t have to deny their pets veterinary care because of cost
• Specialized training through the Behavior Modification Program
• Investigations into suspected cruelty and neglect by Humane Law Enforcement
• “Second Chance” transfers that give animals from other shelters a fresh start

For me, this cause is personal.

My dog Judy had a rough beginning as part of a neglect case in Klamath Falls. But when Oregon Humane brought her to Portland, everything changed—for both of us. We found each other, and she has been thriving ever since.

Today Judy’s life is full of the simple joys every dog deserves. She loves spending time with her doggie office mates, running along the river and at the park, dinner parties and wine tasting, and she loves hiking in the Gorge.

Watching her grow into the happy, curious dog she was meant to be has been incredible.

We’re participating in Doggie Dash to "pay it forward" so more animals can get the same second chance Judy did, and more people can experience the life-changing love of a dog like her.
