Once again, I’m participating in Doggie Dash to help animals in need!
In addition to my other volunteer contributions, this year I have been caring for dogs in protective custody (PC), a new experience for me and something I find very rewarding. The last group of PC dogs found wonderful homes after OHS Humane Law Enforcement brought them to our shelter. As I worked with other volunteers and staff, the dogs learned trust. Each dog had a unique personality that brought a smile to my face and filled my heart as they came out of their shells. Some of their adopters send us updates, including photos of the dogs now sitting on couches, cozy in their dog beds, doing normal doggie stuff. Of course, I continue to regularly walk dogs and do other volunteer work for Oregon Humane Society.
Please help me make a difference to the shelter animals by contributing to my fundraising efforts. Every dollar I raise will help support:
- Daily care for shelter animals while they await their new homes. - Subsidized veterinary care for pet owners in need so that they don’t have to deny their animal treatment due to cost. - Specialized training for animals in OHS’ Behavior Modification Program. - Investigations from OHS Humane Law Enforcement into suspected cases of cruelty and neglect. - Relocation of animals to OHS from shelters in areas impacted by natural disasters, freeing up kennel space for displaced pets.
I’m fundraising to support all of the critical programs and services that Oregon Humane Society provides. Please make a gift today to help me reach my goal!
