I’m participating in Doggie Dash to help animals in need!  
 
Please help me make a difference in my community by contributing to my fundraising efforts. Every dollar I raise will help support: 

- Daily care for shelter animals while they await their new homes. 
- Subsidized veterinary care for pet owners in need so that they don’t have to deny their animal treatment due to cost.  
- Specialized training for animals in OHS’ Behavior Modification Program. 
- Relocation of animals to OHS from shelters in areas impacted by natural disasters, freeing up kennel space for displaced pets. 

Recently, I’ve been working with dogs that are or have been in protective custody (PC). These are dogs that have been taken into the shelter because they’ve been abused or neglected. It’s a tough job, but it’s important to give these dogs the care and attention they deserve.

OHS recently opened the Animal Crimes Forensic Center, which is a big step forward in helping to protect animals from abuse and neglect. It’s a great resource for law enforcement, and it’s making a real difference in the lives of animals. After years of success, the Animal Crimes Forensic Center (ACFC) is making a big difference in cases led by OHS Humane Law Enforcement and other agencies. As the only facility of its kind on the West Coast, the ACFC provides services to law enforcement agencies in Oregon and beyond. OHS forensic veterinarians compile reports of their findings, which are then submitted to the prosecutor. Without this chain of command, there’s no case! Working with the PC dogs is incredibly rewarding. Our last group of PC dogs have been adopted and are living their best lives. One dog from our last group comes in regularly for classes at the OHS training center. Seeing him thrive is quite heartwarming.
