Join me in supporting Doggie Dash, a fundraiser for the Oregon Humane Society!
Exciting expansions are on the horizon for the Oregon Humane Society. Their New Road Ahead project is expanding the current shelter to a 12 acre facility, which will create space for a Community Teaching Hospital where the community will have access to affordable veterinary care, an Animal Crimes Forensic Center that can process evidence from animal cruelty cases around the world, and a Behavior Rehabilitation and Rescue Center where animals can come to recover from perilous situations and begin the healing process. Each one of these services is so important to improving animal welfare in our community. https://www.oregonhumane.org/new-road-ahead/
My dedication to the Oregon Humane Society has amounted to over 4,100 hours of volunteer work over the past 7 years in the form of intake, dog walking, behavior training, and foster care. We took our 44th foster into our home this year! Willow came to us in late January under observation for hyperthyroidism and other senior cat health conditions. Her hyperthyroidism and renal disease are now under control with medications and changes in diet. We welcomed her as a permanent member of our family in early March.
I hope your pets were a comfort to you through this very challenging past year. Please join me in helping pets from all walks of life by donating now!
