I'm Melanie, and I run Oregon Humane's Foster Programs — which means I get to work every day with some of the most dedicated, big-hearted people I know: our foster parents.

Foster care is the heartbeat of what we do. It's how we get bottle babies through their most vulnerable weeks. It's how dogs who've never known kindness learn to trust again. It's how animals who need extra time, extra patience, or extra medical support get exactly that — in a real home, with someone who genuinely cares.

Every animal who moves through a foster home has a better shot. A better story. A better chance at finding the family they deserve.

🐾 Resources for foster parents caring for neonatal animals who need round-the-clock attention
🐾 Behavioral support for dogs and cats learning to trust — so they can find the homes they deserve
🐾 Second chances for animals transferred to OHS from shelters across the state who need more time and care than a shelter can provide
