On May 11, I will again join forces with Oregon Humane Society (OHS) staff, volunteers and the community in support of OHS and my Doggie Dash team, HIGHWAY TO HOME (H2H). H2H is a team of volunteers from the Second Chance Program who assist with the intake of animals transported to OHS from overcrowded shelters. This volunteer work is dear to my heart, AND it is where I met and adopted both our dogs, Lewis & Georgie.
While I’m busy fundraising, I also walk dogs, teach hands-on-training to new volunteers, am a dog foster parent, and work in the OHS advanced kennel buddy program with dogs that need a little extra help. One photo on this page is of me with the beagles we took in from the Envigo lab in Virginia. You may have read about this case as it received a significant amount of media attention. OHS housed 80 of the 4,000 seized beagles, all were adopted! The other pic is a foster dog we cared for last year.
Please consider making a donation to this safe/secure fundraising page to help support so many wonderful animals in need. I am very grateful for your donation and can assure you first-hand that every donation, any amount, makes a huge difference.
Thank you for your support, Kristi
OHS found forever homes for over 11,000 animals last year, with nearly two-thirds of those were through the Second Chance program, plus they're the only agency that has full-time humane investigators who fight animal abuse all over Oregon.
