Team Highway to Home is fundraising to make a difference in our community!
Last year, OHS adopted out over 11,000 pets. Did you know that over 2/3 of them came from other shelters? - Crowded shelters where they euthanize for space - Shelters that were full when a disaster struck, like the Maui Wildfires. OHS accepted 92 Maui cats, helping empty the shelter so pets affected by the fires had a place to go. - Pets with medical issues that our vet team can help with, making that pet "more adoptable."
The Highway to Home team is the crew of volunteers who helps with these transfers...from driving vans to shelters, meeting vans or planes at the airport, to helping with exams and vaccines, and tucking them in for their first night at OHS.
Every person who supports our Team Highway to Home will have an impact on the lives of animals in need. Your donation to Oregon Humane Society supports:
- Specialized behavior modification for scared pets
- Subsidized veterinary care for pet owners in need of assistance
- Investigations into cases of cruelty and neglect
- Emergency responders being deployed to disaster zones
